Chris Dignan - Executive Chef

Born and raised in BC's own wine country, Chris started his culinary career at The Italian Kitchen Co. in Vernon, BC. His experience there exposed him to a whole new way of working with food. He had always been interested in art but hadn't realized that creating amazing food could also be an outlet for his creative side.

Chris's pursuit of new and innovative cuisine ultimately led him to Victoria, and the critically acclaimed Cafe Brio, where he began his apprenticeship under Executive Chef Sean Brennan. One of the greatest lessons he learned was how important it is to treat the food properly, with great respect, using fresh, local ingredients that work together to create a dish that is truly memorable.

Fast forward to 2009 and The Edge Social Grille & Lounge - Chef Chris likes the Granville Street vibe as it's all about eclecticism. On any given night you will get the young urbanites looking for a cocktail and snack on their way to a club along with true foodies looking for that unforgettable meal. "The menu I've designed reflects this by offering a great variety of dishes but what they've all got in common is that element of playfulnesss and fun."
